About the Game

Starleap is an intergalactic race between space-faring animals in a prestigious affair hosted by King Wa from planet Amphibia. Each player is in charge of a team of 3 frogs who are racing back home. The objective of the game is to have the most points. Points are gained by collecting bugs along the way and by finishing before the other players.

Each player has an identical hand of movement cards, 1 interrupt card, and 1 special card unique to them. On your turn, you play a card and resolve its movement, leap frogging over occupied spaces. Each space you land on triggers some effect: rockets let you move further, portals teleport you, stars allow you to draw powerful boost cards, asteroids earn you bugs, and planets give you one of 5 permanent upgrades. Timing is crucial in the game, so each player's single interrupt card allows them to make a movement on their off-turn to capitalize on the positioning of other player's frogs.

When you play a card, you keep it in front of you and don't have access to it again until you pick all your cards back up by ending your turn with no cards in hand. The game ends when one player has made it home with all 3 frogs. The frogs earn points based on their relative positions, with the frogs in last losing points. The player with the most points wins!
