About the Game

In Startup Empire, players take on the role of ambitious CEOs determined to build a billion-dollar startup empire. Compete across 6 industry sectors — Tech & Software, Finance & Crypto, Health & Biotech, Green & Energy, Media & Entertainment, and Real Estate & Construction — each with its own risk and reward profile.

On each turn, players roll two dice: a Classic Die for movement and a Business Die that triggers economic events affecting all players. Land on different spaces to acquire startup cards, attract investors from the VC Pool, innovate with powerful upgrades, face market crises, or unlock rare Empire Bonus cards.

The key strategic mechanic is the merger system: combine two startups in the same sector to form a Group with a dramatically higher valuation multiplier (4.8x vs 3x for individual startups). Players must carefully balance cash flow against long-term valuation growth, negotiate deals with rivals, and time their mergers for maximum impact.

The game features 90 cards across 5 types (StartUp, Investor, Innovation, Market & Crisis, and Empire Bonus), immunity totems for crisis protection, a debt system with double repayment penalties, and multiple game modes including a quick "Startup Sprint" variant.

The winner is not the player with the most cash — it is the player with the highest total valuation, calculated from startup revenues, merger bonuses, remaining cash, and active card effects, minus any unpaid debts.
