About the Game
Strongbow was the nickname of the disgraced Norman aristocrat Richard de Clare, who was asked to invade Ireland by King Dermot McMurrough of Leinster in 1169.
Strongbow is an expansion of Domesday depicting the Norman Conquest of Ireland from 1169 to 1216. The players control Normans, Barons, Vikings, McCarthys, McLoughlins, McMurroughs, O’Briens, O’Connors, and O’Neills, playing cards to resolve Events or use Action Points to activate their units. Players win by earning the most victory points through controlling, contesting, or plundering areas, and building cathedrals and towers.
