About the Game

The box contains 2 packs of 42 cards, each with different clan tartans. Join the Clan has the objective of collecting as many pairs of tartans as possible. Any number of people from 2 to 6 can play. This is essentially the games of pairs. Tartan Snap is a more sophisticated game of snap where there are five sets of tartan cards with red in the fabric. These cards act as jokers. The players shout “snap” when a pair of cards appear, as in the usual game, but in this case a pair of two identical cards, or a joker and another card or two jokers will count as a valid pair.

There are three variants to this games.

Smiling snap. Players stare at each other when a pair appears, the first one to smile loses. (Good for players with laryngitis or who are in love.) Grab. When a pair appears the players try to grab the other players deck while also trying to protect their own. If one player gets their hands on both decks the game is over. Snap for 3 players. The same as snap yet with three players. Anytime a joker appears it will be a “snap”. At any time a player shouts “snap” at the wrong time loses their played cards to the winner of that round.
