About the Game

Книга сказок ("The Book of Fairy Tales") is a children's family game with beautiful illustrations, dedicated to the most famous Russian fairy tales. In the game, players must assemble a complete picture of a fairy tale's plot from individual episode cards. The game features the plots of five fairy tales by Alexander Pushkin.

Players sit opposite one side of the Book of Fairy Tales (a box with 12 plot cards inserted into it, 3 on each side) and take turns trying to complete full fairy tale plots in front of them. Once per round, the Book of Fairy Tales is rotated 90 degrees.

On their turn, a player performs one of the following main actions:

Take 1 face-down card from the plot deck.

Exchange 1 card with the Book of Fairy Tales. The player takes 1 card from their side of the box and replaces it with any card from their hand.

Play a fairy tale character card, applying its effect.

After performing the main action, the player may also play one or more plot cards from their hand in front of themselves. If a player wants to play several cards, they must all belong to the same fairy tale and follow the plot in sequence.

Each fairy tale is assembled separately. Its plot cards are laid out in a row in sequential order, forming a single panorama. A fairy tale plot is considered completed when a full panorama has been assembled from the cards.

The player who first completes 3 fairy tales wins.

If the plot deck runs out earlier, the players finish the round, and the player who has played the most plot cards wins. In case of a tie, the player who took the last turn wins.
