The Chronicles of BERG 2025

As subject of many a tale, there were many who doubted that the magical realm of the mountain Berg exists - until its recent discovery. Step into the shoes of a chronicler, who buckles up with his trusty crew of dwarves and goats to explore this wonderland. The Chronicles of Berg are yet unwritten and it is up to you to capture the mystical mountain's many tales: There are tales of gems as big as houses, grand feasts, feisty beasts, the fearsome Krampus and many more on this alpine fairy-tale mountainscape. Will your story become history?

The Chronicles of BERG is a friendly, yet competitive 2-5 player strategy game. It combines elements of deck-building and route planning and gives you small narrative decisions on the tales your chronicler writes down. It is your goal to gather the most renown by the time the game ends, so that your chronicles are the ones to go down in history. Each turn represents the start of a new expedition and a new chance to grow your renown by helping the new settlers of Berg and writing down tales in your chronicle. After a set number of turns, the game ends as the Mountain has been fully settled and its many stories have already been told.

Each player starts with a deck of five action cards. The players take turns playing one card at a time, which determines the actions they take. These actions allow you to move your pieces on the board, gather resources, help the settlers on Berg, use the finest of dwarven tools and capture the various stories of the mountain. During gameplay, you will add more action cards to your deck and you will write down the stories you gathered in your chronicles, which gives you unique bonuses and possibilities for the rest of the game.

Each playthrough offers a new experience as the layout of the mountain, the tools available, the stories you experience and your historian vary from game to game.
