About the Game

The Hedgehog’s Dilemma is a trick-taking game featuring fragile partnerships, shared win and loss conditions, and completely open table talk rules. Based on Schopenhauer’s parable of porcupines illustrating the perils of human intimacy, players navigate fraught relationships with each other to trade cards and build exponential scoring opportunities. By winning tricks, players traverse an endless loop that rewards those who get close—but not too close—to one another.
