Focusing on the American 7th Army's initial phase of the Invasion of Sicily in 1943. This packet covers a major airborne landing and multiple beach landings as well as the beginnings of the drive inland during the first week of the invasion.
Patton led American forces of the Central and Western Task Forces. Licata offered the stiffest resistance and Gela became the center point of a German and Italian counterattack with the intent to drive the Allies back into the sea. The 1st Division and portions of the 45th faced German tanks, including Tigers, and infantry in battles around Gela, the Piano Lupo road junction, and Biazzo Ridge. Paratroopers from the 505th along with their brothers from the 45th made one of their finest stands at Biazzo Ridge. The 3rd Division faced the grizzled veterans of the 15th Panzergrenadier Division. However, the rapid advance of the 3rd short-circuited the Axis counterattack plans. Italian mobility groups and the 15th provide significant challenges to the advance through Campobello and on to Canicatti.
Rules for amphibious assaults and parachute drops are provided for the scenarios that need them. The other battles include Americans facing the well equiped Herman Göring Division as well as the veteran 15th Panzergrenadiers and the Italian Livorno Division.
