About the Game
A mágus küldetése is a 1–4 player print & play game in which players team up to battle the forces of demons. Prestige, upgrades, gold, and items earned in each chapter can be carried over and used in subsequent chapters.
The story unfolds across 8+1 chapters. Each game takes place at a specific location. Players can progress to the next location (chapter) only if all enemies at the current location are defeated; otherwise, the next game will be played at the same location.
Players can choose from 8+1 characters: wizard, barbarian, rogue, druid, paladin, necromancer, assassin, monk, and demon.
Each player needs: one pencil, one six-sided die, 0–2 tokens depending on the character, and 3 printed game sheets (action sheet, location sheet, character sheet). A new action and location sheet must be printed for each game, while the character sheet is only printed at the beginning of the story.
A game consists of 12 rounds. At the beginning of the game, each player starts with 3 initial actions. In rounds 1–6, players choose 3 actions from a set of 6; the remaining 3 are unlocked in the corresponding round from 7 to 12.
Actions also serve as action points (AP), which are required to perform more powerful actions (AP: 2–3). Each character’s actions typically fall into three thematic categories. For example: rogue – armor, sword, bow; necromancer – skeleton, curse magic, blood magic. Each action type has an area of effect, within which damage is dealt according to the shape of the action’s damage pattern.
In addition to direct damage, actions may have up to four other effects: control, damage bonus, block, and defense.
Victory rewards players with gold and upgrades. Gold can be used to purchase items.
Easier gameplay reduces prestige, while increased difficulty raises it.
