About the Game

This is a print and play game depicting the sea trade in the Caribbean Sea. The Seaward is a brig which begins in:

England, 1792

The port of Portsmouth bustles with sailors, merchants, and the ever-watchful eyes of the authorities. Among the chaos stands young Rupert Braithwaite, a lad of twenty, clutching a worn leather satchel and staring wide-eyed at the towering masts of the Seaward. The ship, his passage to the distant island of Jamaica, will soon set sail. Rupert’s father, a seasoned trader, owns the Seaward and other ships. But before Rupert can inherit the family business, he is required to learn life at sea — from the lower deck to the quarterdeck. Thus, he is shipped out to learn the trade firsthand.

Every voyage will be different due to the random events tables for the various sea areas and for both war and peace. The trading will involve both cargo for delivery and trade goods.

The player rolls dice and keeps the ships log as events unfold.

This game is available from the Wargame Vault online site.
