About the Game

Travel through the islands of Japan. Make your way through Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido creating your own path. This Expansion for The Wayfarer consists of three different maps that have modified rules.

Explore Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island, known for its breathtaking landscapes. Vast fields of wildflowers stretch across expansive plains, bordered by rolling mountains and volcanic peaks. In winter, the region transforms into a snow-covered wonderland, with powdery snow blanketing forests and coastal cliffs. Hot springs, serene lakes, and expansive national parks further highlight Hokkaido’s natural beauty.

Honshu, Japan's largest island, offers a diverse and dynamic landscape. The island is home to towering mountains like the iconic Mount Fuji, lush forests, and fertile plains, especially around regions like Kansai and Kanto. Along its coastline, you’ll find dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and serene bays. Honshu is also dotted with bustling cities, tranquil temples, and rice paddies, offering a stunning contrast between city and nature.

Kyushu, Japan's southernmost main island, is known for its lush, mountainous terrain and active volcanic landscapes. The island features hot springs like those in Beppu and volcanic peaks such as Mount Aso, one of the world's largest active volcanoes. Its coastlines are dotted with beautiful beaches, rugged cliffs, and serene bays. Dense forests cover much of the interior, while the subtropical climate along the southern coast nurtures vibrant plant life.
