About the Game
Upgrade your experience in Thebai with the Contracts Promo, a mini-expansion featuring 6 all-new contract cards that open up fresh possibilities, strategic trade-offs, and final scoring decisions.
These contract cards can be shuffled directly into the base deck during setup and add unique effects that give players more flexibility and risk-reward dynamics throughout the game. The promo also introduces a new scoring rule: during final scoring, you may only count one suit per promo contract fulfilled—encouraging more careful planning and synergy.
Sample effects from the new contract cards include:
Spend Pottery and Bronze to activate the Cadmea tile your Archon is standing on. Trade resources to immediately draw and fulfill a contract (no rewards, but counts for scoring). Lose devotion to gain strong combos like bonus commodities, VP, or double tile effects. Make powerful one-time sacrifices for long-term benefits.
