About the Game

其惟春秋 ("Through the Spring and Autumn") is a card-driven war game for up to six players, blending historical realism with deep strategic gameplay. Step into the roles of the era's most remarkable powers: the Zhou royal court, the formidable states of Chu, Jin, Qi, and Qin, and the influential School of Confucius. Command armies, forge alliances, navigate diplomacy, and expand your dominion. Recruit brilliant statesmen, wage wars of conquest, and contend for supremacy—but beware, for those who rise too high risk becoming the enemy of all. Victory demands more than conquest alone. Territory and prestige are vital, but wisdom and restraint are just as crucial. A ruler who overreaches may be scorned by heaven and cast down in ruin.

The core system and gameplay of Through the Spring and Autumn are inspired by classics like Here I Stand and Virgin Queen. The designers expand upon the card-driven genre with a wealth of mechanics reflecting the rich heritage of pre-Qin China, such as coalition gathering, folk song collecting, court summoning, talent seeking, fighting against ancient tribes, and a divination system based on the I Ching's sixty-four hexagrams.
