About the Game

Tokens & Towers is a strategic race game for four players inspired by the classic card-driven board game Tokken (also known as Tock or Jokers & Pegs). Players move their pieces around a circular track using a shared deck of cards, attempting to guide their pieces safely into their home tower before their opponents do. While the core gameplay remains familiar to fans of traditional Tokken, Tokens & Towers introduces new systems that add meaningful strategic choices without losing the accessibility of the original game.

In the base game, players use cards to move their pieces along the track, block opponents, and send rival pieces back to the start. As in Tokken, teamwork and timing can be crucial, especially when coordinating moves with a partner. However, the game expands on this foundation with additional layers that give players more control over their strategy.

One of these layers is a card bidding system. During a bidding phase, several cards are revealed and players compete for the ones they want most. By committing resources, players can influence which cards they gain access to, adding an element of planning and psychological interaction before the race even continues.

The second major system is tower building. Each player has a personal tower board where special tiles can be placed during the game. Completing rows, columns, or the central diagonal unlocks different bonuses and abilities. These improvements allow players to shape their own strategy, whether by gaining additional resources, manipulating cards, or protecting their pieces.

The result is a game that blends the familiar flow of a classic race game with modern board-game elements such as engine building and player asymmetry. Tokens & Towers aims to be accessible to new players while offering additional strategic depth for experienced gamers and longtime Tokken fans alike.
