TopThis!: Battle of the Bands 2026

TopThis is a rummy-style card game where players compete as rival bands assembling the greatest setlist in rock history. Each player builds a hand of song cards spanning different genres and eras, racing to construct winning combinations before their rivals can steal the spotlight. On a turn, players can play from their own hand or poach — pulling a card directly from another band's setlist and inserting it into their own, disrupting an opponent's carefully built lineup while advancing their own. Setlists can be flipped, revealing a different side of the lineup and opening new scoring possibilities. Timing a poach is the heart of the game: strike too early and you tip your hand, wait too long and the song you need is gone. The game rewards reading the table — watching what other bands are building, anticipating which songs they need, and deciding when disruption is worth more than building your own set. Rounds escalate as setlists fill in, with the tension of poaching increasing as fewer cards remain in play. The band with the strongest completed setlist when the dust settles wins the battle and headlines the show.
