About the Game

Trax: Road Trip is a strategic route-building and hand-management card game focused on domestic travel, destination optimization, and resource management.

Each turn, players play a point-limited number of terrain-themed road cards from their hand to expand a shared map aiming to connect paths to high-value attraction cards. Scoring is driven by planning efficient trips from one attraction to the next. Players must carefully tailor their route to match specific terrain requirements; if a route becomes too long or inefficient, it triggers a detour penalty that reduces the final point payout.

Movement is also limited by points, and player’s track their movement across cards with car tokens. As they cross certain cards with their car token, they may collect bonuses that grant extra card play, movement, and points. The game features asymmetrical strategy options, allowing players to focus on chaining terrain bonuses, utilizing specialized event cards, or deploying strategies that force their opponents onto undesirable paths.

This is part of the Trax franchise by Cormel Games that all use similar road-building mechanics, with different themes and gameplay to make each game a unique playing experience.
