About the Game

Tricus Maximus is a chariot-racing trick-taking game for three or four players. Players will be playing cards to tricks and then moving their chariots around the Circus Maximus based on the results of those tricks. Through canny play and clever positioning, they'll vie to cross the finish line first.

It is played using a standard deck of playing cards, and a board that can easily be printed out. Each space on the board has two bonus circles, which have either a rank or a suit depicted in them. When players match one or both of these symbols with the card they've played to the trick, they are able to move further along the track than they might otherwise.

The game is a race to complete three laps around the circuit, and the first player to do three laps wins the game. It takes about 30 minutes to play.
