About the Game

28 is a two player trick-taking game using a double six set of dominoes or domino cards. Players receive 13 dominoes as their hand, two of which they will set aside face down to comprise their bid for the number of tricks they expect to take. Bids are calculated by looking at the difference between the ends of each domino, and adding those differences together. The maximum bid therefore is 11 and the minimum bid is 0.

Both players then play out a trick-taking game using trick play reminiscent of Texas 42. At the end of 11 tricks, players reveal their bids and score points for their tricks as well as a bonus if they succeeded in taking as many tricks as they bid.
