About the Game

Underbranch is an abstract push-your-luck set building game of 64 multi-use cards.

The cards have two halves: a number half (numbers 1 to 10 in six suits) and an objective half (Flush, Straight, Even numbers, etc). The numbers are played on top of matching objectives, and the sets form columns where subsequent sets must fulfill the combined requirements of all earlier objectives in the same column.

On a turn, you have four action options:

Play a number card from a queue Play a number card from the deck Play an objective card from the deck Draw 3 objective cards: play one, discard one, return one

The game ends when you cannot do any action, or do not want to do any action, or if the discard pile has 11 cards or more.

At game end, the sets that have been built between objectives are scored. You gain victory points based on the number of cards in a set and the set's level in the column.

Although mainly a solo game, the rules include competitive and cooperative variants for two players.
