About the Game
Up Down 30 is a climbing / shedding card game where the direction of the "better" hand can change throughout the round.
Cards 1 to 30 are shuffled, and six dealt to each player. The direction card starts as "Up". The lead player plays either a single card or a set of sequential cards, and other players must play a matching but higher set of the same size. Each time a player any number of cards showing "UpDown" are played, the direction card is flipped, and the "better" hand will now be the opposite direction. If a player can't or doesn't want to play, they pass and draw a card from the deck, if there are any.
When all players but one pass, the played cards are flipped over on top of the deck. The last player to play a card leads next, and may play any single card or sequence. Play continues this way until all players but one have emptied their hands, and points are awarded based on the order players went out.
