About the Game
Veilrift (German: Schleierriss) is a co-operative board game from the world of O.D.I.N., a free tabletop RPG about agents of an organisation that officially does not exist. When the game starts, two rifts are open and the Threat is rising.
On the Situation Map the cell rolls a D6 and travels from Wales to Naples and up to Tromsø, draws encounters in cities and the wilderness and gears up at the Bases in London and Stockholm. Each rift has a skull clock with six segments. After every third agent turn one segment fills, and a full clock widens the rift and raises the Threat by 2. Every nine agent turns a new rift opens.
Where a rift is open, the cell goes down into a Hold and fights room by room on a square grid. Enemies appear only when a room is opened, rolled on the table of the rift's origin, and the Hold draws a card after every round. To close the rift, the cell rolls Knowledge against its strength. White dice come from the attribute and succeed on 5 or 6, coloured dice come from the skill and succeed on 4 to 6.
Close three rifts and the Threshold opens. The Demon waits behind it. Close the Threshold to win; if the Threat track fills up, the game is lost. Three to six agents take part, and a solo player runs three. The game is free as print and play and can also be played in the browser.
