About the Game

From the back of the box : 25 cards Tarot wich harmonize between them to create an infinity of pictures. VIA VITAE is also an original cardgame for 2 players. Each card is an work of art specially performed by Dominique Ehrhard, Art painter and game designer. In the box, a 24 pages booklet present various artist's works.

From the rulebook : VIA VITAE is published by Edition Face & Dos and the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux with the support of Incredible Toys.

It was a game specially created for an exposure about Dominique Ehrhard and his works of art called "The exposure where you play, paintings and games of Dominique Ehrhard", from 8th december 2004 to 13th february 2005 at the French Museum of the Playing Card (city of Issy-les-Moulineaux).

The game runs 2 rounds. Biggest score at the end of the second round wins. Each round plays in the same way. A player lay a card face up, the other player must answers to this card by playing a card with the same color or the same symbol. The player who can't answers to the card played by his opponent lose the round. Each card show a number from 1 to 5 under its colored symbol. This number is the strength of the card. The player who plays the strongest card, continues and plays first with another card which calls another answer card...etc.

Paintings on cards have no influence on the game but show life line (via vitae) of players...
