About the Game

Vichy’s Wars offers 13 action-packed wargame scenarios featuring the fighting in France’s overseas possessions in WWII. Often overlooked, these campaigns were hard fought on both sides by a variety of colonial soldiers.

Following the armistice in June 1940, metropolitan France was quiet. However, that was not the case in their overseas empire. In January 1941 Thailand invaded Cambodia in French IndoChina to regain lost provinces (one scenario). Later the same year, a British force invaded Syria to prevent its occupation by the Germans (five scenarios). The next year the British attacked again, this time landing in Madagascar (two scenarios). Their objective was to seize a naval base and prevent the Japanese from using it to attack convoys around Africa. Finally in November 1942, American and British forces landed in North Africa in Operation Torch (five scenarios). While France lost all these campaigns, it was not for lack of courage or determination.

Also included is a 28 page historical monograph and maps.
