About the Game

Vokabul is designed to practise making sentences in English. Each game is played with a minimum of two and a maximum of four players. Before the game begins, all players are given an equal number of word suffixes. Then, the word tiles are shuffled and placed face down on the table in groups of five. The youngest player starts as the dealer. The dealer begins distributing the tiles starting with the player on their right and deals the tiles in groups of five. The player to the dealer’s right receives 15 word tiles, while the other players receive 14 word tiles each. The player with 15 word tiles places one tile, which they think will not be useful for forming sentences, face up to their right. The next player may either take the discarded tile or draw a tile from the face-down pile in the center. The game continues in this way. A player who uses all 14 word tiles in meaningful sentences declares the end of the round by placing the 15th tile face down in the center. The player who finishes the round shows their rack to the other players and explains that the sentences they formed are meaningful and grammatically correct. There are 3 basic rules for forming sentences: A sentence must consist of at least 3 word tiles (Suffixes are not counted as word tiles). The sentence must be grammatically correct and meaningful.

Scoring Player who finishes the round: +1 point Player who finishes the round with the word “VOKABUL”: +2 points Player who makes a Double (special finish): +3 points Player who forms an incorrect set (wrong sentence): -2 points
