About the Game
The lack of a clear successor to the Spanish throne resulted in a 14 year war between the great Houses of Bourbon (France) and Hapsburg (Holy Roman Empire) the result of which spread war and carnage across much of Western Europe, Italy, and the Iberian Peninsula....
The War of Spanish Succession played out in some of the largest and bloodiest battles of the era. Battles where commanders argued with each other, poor reconnaissance led to costly attacks and stubbornness and pride cost enormous casualties.
This book contains scenarios for 19 of the most important battles—some large and some small.
Each battle includes a Strategic overview, a summary of the historic battle, detailed game maps, roster sheets for each army, deployment, game length and victory conditions. The scenarios are formatted for Volley & Bayonet: Road to Glory rules but should be suitable for conversion to other rules.
