About the Game

From the new rulebook: "Wilcox War updates the (frustrating and not-great) game War to add in strategy, deterrents, and bluffing - slight changes to make a much better game - without changing its essence! Enjoy!"

Players play with 3-card hands, with all cards being shown to each other at the start of the game. The draw pile is also face up so players can have a rough idea what their opponent's hand is - and then they have to guess "Will they bluff?". As in traditional War, the players reveal a card, with the larger card revealed capturing the smaller. The alterations in Wilcox War changes the game into a small bluffing/strategy game.

The primary game is: Single Pass / One Deck - where each player has 1/2 a deck of card and only play through once.

The two rule books are for:

SINGLE PASS (playing once through the cards) - This is the primary, recommended version. - Using 1 deck of cards split equally between players. This rulebook also contains adjusted rules if you want both players to play with the own full deck of cards, and additional option rules.

WINNER-TAKES-ALL (continuous playing until one player's deck becomes too reduced) - Using 1 deck of cards split equally between players. This rulebook also contains adjusted rules if you want both players to play with the own full deck, and additional option rules.
