You Decide: The Financial Education Game 2012

Your family has come together to plan their finances. You already know your current situation and what your financial goal is, but… How will you reach that goal? What will your strategy be?

In “You Decide” (Tú Decides) the players adopt the role of a family that seeks to fulfill its great financial goal, while worrying about the income, expenses, debts and contingencies of each month. Each family has an economic situation that must improve, for this they make financial planning decisions and each month they can choose which aspect of their family finances they give special care to. The family first to achieve its great financial goal wins the game.

This game was developed for the financial education department of the Solidarity and Social Investment Fund (FOSIS) of the Ministry of Social Development of the Government of Chile, to be used in training for heads of household in all regions of the country. More than 4000 units have been distributed and it is in its third edition. Apart from head of household training, It has been distributed and applied to schools throughout Chile and has been successfully received by teachers and students. National tournaments have also been held.
