About the Game

A tactical level wargame that covers some battles of the Osaka Siege summer campaign (1615), the day before the final battle. The title is taken from the Japanese popular culture hero "Yukimura Sanada" who was a commanding samurai at the siege of Osaka. A "gaiden" is a tale.

The basic game engine is from Yukimura Gaiden (episode 1). Some rules were changed to fit to the smaller battlefield. Each player controls either the Tokugawa shogunate or Toyotomi clan forces.

The game include four scenarios: two historical "Battle of Yao Wakae" and "Battle of Domyoji", a fictional situation "Domyoji", a combined scenario of these two battles. The victory condition varies in each scenario, such as elimination of leaders or crossing of a river.

Number of counters: 252 pieces Maps: 2 half Game time: May 6, 1615 Playing time: 2-3 hours Number of players: 2 people
