What changed: This remix incorporates two major changes and 1 minor change to Ember Designworks original. • My remix adds 2 slots for nectar from the Oceana expansion. • It comes In two different heights… A single height version that is the height of the game box (less instructions) in order to accommodate all the food and eggs from expansions… OR… (and this is the game changer for me) it comes in two half height versions, so that there is a dispenser for either side of the table that has all of the food and eggs, but both dispensers stack and fit in the same “front left” side of the box adjacent to Birdfeeder. • The minor change is that it is slightly narrower than the original, so that it will fit side to side with a printed bird feeder.

Designer's Description

This tray is designed to hold (most of) the egg and food-tokens from the base game, along with egg and food tokens from the Oceana, European and Asia expansions, and to provide a tight lid that will allow for vertical storage with no spillage.

It is designed to be a “dispenser” during game play, and thus there are two different versions… a full height version, which will ultimately hold more food/eggs, or two “half Height” versions that sacrifice a little bit of capacity for the benefit of having two different dispensers that can be on opposite sides of the table, allowing for players to not have to reach across the game play area to get to any one type of food, or to grab eggs.

The two half-height trays do hold enough eggs and food for a 7 player game, but they won't hold ALL of the eggs and food from the base game and all three expansions.

Two half height containers, or one full height container will fit in the box to the left of where the cardboard birdfeeder is traditionally stored. The box width on this remix has been narrowed slightly to specifically allow for a 3d printed bird feeder that has a dice tray length of 6.83047 inches, which is the absolute minimum length that the tray can be while still accommodating the wonderful fold up design created by Strider1 here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5960025

I've included my shortened version of the above Birdfeeder tray, but please get the rest of his original design from the above link, as he has not granted any remix permissions to his Bird Feeder design…

The really narrow lid guide at the “front right” of the box may be a bit too delicate and could probably be twice as wide while still allowing the easy dispensing of food from the front right slot. This will be changed in a redesigned Version 2 of this, which I may eventually get to. Such a redesign would include making the tray walls thinner, to possible accommodate the few extra eggs that won't fit if you have all three expansions. Or possibly not. :)

Other Wingspan Box Organizers:

I have remixed or have made from scratch a full set of Wingspan Box Organizers that are all designed to work together to accommodate the base game, as well as the European, Oceania, and Asian expansion all in the original Wingspan box, and to be stored vertically with no spillage, and to assist and improve table play.
