Designer's Description

Bring order to the madness! If your Mansions of Madness setup currently looks like a Lovecraftian nightmare, this comprehensive organizer is your sanity check.

This insert is engineered for the dedicated collector, fitting all components (excluding tiles) from ALL expansions across both the First and Second Editions of the game. It also has extra investigator figure space for 3D printed investigators used in the Arkham Horror LCG. You can find those models here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vPEvvyYxVuXGP1nk7otKrljthfo7hwy8Mj9pxPW6u68/edit?usp=sharing .

What it organizes:

  • Monsters: Individual, labeled compartments for every monster miniature, ensuring no Elder Thing or Shoggoth goes astray.
  • Investigators: Custom-sized slots for all investigator figures.
  • Cards: Dedicated, removable card trays (sleeved or unsleeved compatible) grouped by type.
  • Tokens: Specific trays and boxes for all game tokens (clue, damage, horror, effect, etc.).

Important: This design focuses solely on organizing the figures, cards, and tokens . The tile organizer is a separate, dedicated model and can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1837333-mansions-of-madness-tiles-insert-organizer#profileId-1962516 . It does not store any first edition cards.

The pictures use the following filaments:

  • Elegoo Matte Black - Knobs and Inserts
  • Bambu PLA Matte Ivory White - Insert Names
  • Bambu PLA Basic Maroon Red - Trauma and Character Sheet drawers
  • Bambu PLA Matte Dark Blue - Sanity Drawer
  • Bambu PLA Matte Dark Green - Insanity Drawer
  • Bambu PLA Matte Terracotta - Token Drawers
  • Bambu PLA Matte Dark Chocolate - Vertical Card Drawers
  • Bambu PLA Basic Dark Gray - First Edition Token Drawers and Extra Storage Drawer
  • Bambu PLA Basic Purple - Investigator Tray bottom
  • Geeetech TPU 95A Orange - Investigator Tray Top

These inserts will fit any box with an inside dimension of 287mm x 287mm. I am using the first edition core box, second edition core box, and the Path of the Serpent expansion box.

Plate 1: TPU Investigator Lock (optional)

This prints the optional locking mechanism that goes on top of the character tray. It is intended to be used with flexible TPU. This was not tested in hard materials like PLA.

Plate 2: Investigator Shelf

Investigator miniatures fit in these shelves and slide into the insert from plate 3.

Plate 3: Investigators Insert

This insert can hold 5 investigator trays. Each tray holds 12 investigators. Note that Mansions of Madness has 40 investigators. If you haven't printed any extra miniatures for the card game, you only need 4 trays.

Plates 4 and 5: Drawers

These are all the drawers to house tokens and cards. Plates 14 or 15 will have the remaining drawers. Read below.

Plates 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12: Inserts

These plates use AMS switching to change 3 layers to white for the monster names.

Plate 10: Knobs

This plate prints 20 knobs at 0.08mm height for gluing to the front of drawers. I recommend super glue.

Plates 14 and 15: Extra Drawers Options

If you do not want to house first edition tokens, print plate 14 and not 15. If you wish to use the inserts for first edition tokens, print 15 and not 14.

Plate 16: Card Dividers

These are dividers to be used in the vertical card storage trays. Print as many as you need to divide your cards. I use 3. One drawer has a divider between Common and Unique cards. The other has a divider between Spells, Statuses, and Elixir/Agenda cards.

Plate 17: Box Extensions (optional)

Depending on the box you use for these inserts, the inserts may stick out farther than the actual box. These are intended to be glued around the portion of the insert outside the box. It helps the lid stay properly attached and gives more stability to the insert. Make sure to measure how much of the insert is outside your box before printing. These are set at 29mm. Scale them on the Z-Axis as needed.
