Designer's Description

This is a fully parametric, magnetic, and stackable token tray system designed to keep board game components organised, accessible, and easy to identify during play. While ideal for board games, the modular design also makes it well suited to a wide range of tabletop, hobby, and general organisation uses.

The tray is designed to be highly customisable , allowing you to adjust dimensions and hardware to suit your specific games, components, and the magnets you already have.

Key Features
  • Hidden magnetic side connections allow multiple trays to snap together securely
  • Stackable design with built-in index pins for reliable alignment when stacking
  • Fully parametric model – customise width, height, and other parameters to suit your needs
  • Configurable magnet size so you can match the magnets you already own
  • Coloured pin-striping at the top for quick visual identification of tray contents
  • Ideal for colour-coding by resource type or player
  • Curved internal base to make retrieval of tokens easier
Use Cases
  • Board game tokens, coins, cubes, and resources
  • Tabletop RPG components
  • General desk, hobby, or workshop organisation
Printing Notes
  • No supports required
  • Can be printed in a single colour to avoid waste caused by the pin-striping
  • If you don’t have an AMS, pin-striping can still be achieved by adding pauses at the correct layer changes
  • Designed for reliable FDM printing and easy scaling thanks to the parametric design
Magnet Notes
  • Magnet dimensions are configurable directly in the model
  • Designed for press-fit magnet insertion – no glue required
  • Magnet placement orientation is important
  • Magnets need to alternate North / South to ensure proper connectivity (see diagram)
  • It is recommended to print a small test tray first to confirm magnet fit and polarity before printing full-sized trays

If you’re looking for a modular, magnetic, and customisable token tray system that adapts to different games rather than locking you into a single layout, this design is built for flexibility.
