Designer's Description

*** Version 2.0 Update ***

Please see below list of updates. I also updated the original text to reflect my changes.

  • Large Card Holder
  • Descreased wall thickness a bit to ensure compatibility with sleeved cards
  • Improved stability of “pull-out support”
  • Changed magnet slots to two 5x2 mm magnets
  • Small Card Holder
  • Now allows sleeved cards up to 47mm width (let me know if your sleeved cards are wider)
  • Updated cut out (to fit large card holder pull-out support)
  • Changed magnet slots to four 5x1 mm magnets
  • Token Tray
  • Changed side magnet slots to two 5x2 mm magnets (+ fixed height)
  • HP Tracker
  • Are now thinner, allowing to have 4 trackers that still work great

***********************

Keep your Gloomhaven Buttons & Bugs game neat and accessible with this magnetized (optional) box insert. The game comes without a proper box insert and I value a quick and neat setup and cleanup for playing on the go wherever I am. There are already many versions online for B&B inserts, but many did not satisfy me fully. So I designed my own - of course inspired by others (there were so many that I cannot remember all and cannot declare it as a single remix) - and of course using some magnets :P

Notable Features:

  • Easy component sorting for faster setup and cleanup
  • Not only for storage but also so you can play directly from it
  • Magnetized card & token holders to click them neatly beside each other on the table (optional)
  • Easy to take out of the box without scattering the pieces, due to smart holders that stack into the next layer without sacrificing valuable space
  • Additional HP trackers & cubes for monsters, including condition token holders for a neat gameplay
  • Magnetized HP tracker also serves as a lid for cubes and condition tokens
  • Card divider helps to quickly pull only the cards you need
  • Advanced scenario sleeve to keep your scenario build stable and solid. Also serves as a divider for large cards
  • Closes flush

Components & Storage Order:

  • Level 0 - Learn to Play: At some point you know the rules and you do not need to take the rulebook out. That's why I keep it at the bottom. There is no need for a dedicated tray.
  • Level 1 - Large Card Holder: For all large cards (e.g. scenarios), attack modifier trays and the scenario sleeve. Can also accomodate sleeved cards up to 93.5x68.1 mm. Includes two slots on the side for 5x2 mm magnets.
  • Level 2 - Small Card Holder: For all small cards. Divide the cards you require from cards you do not need by using the small card divider and the two separate trays. Can also accomodate sleeved cards up to 68.6x47 mm. Includes four slots on the side for 5x1 mm magnets.
  • Level 3 - Token, Dice & Condition Holder: Here you can store all the small pieces that you require for every gameplay: OG HP tracker, miniatures, dice, cubes, and condition markers. For gameplay you don't need to take out the condition markers since they can be easily retrieved from their trays, making setup and cleanup of the game super fast. Includes two slots on the side for 5x2 mm magnets and one slot for 3x2 mm magnet to attach trackers.
  • Level 4 - HP Tracker: The optional HP trackers can be magnetized with 3x2mm magnets, serving as a lid for the cubes and condition markers. It's an easier way to track monster HP while also providing slots for condition markers so that they don't end up scattered all over the table.
  • Magnets: Overall you need four 5x2 mm magnets, four 5x1 mm magnets, five 3x2 mm magnet (bought very cheap from Amazon).

The OG HP tracker tray provides some additional space in case you want to store more custom pieces, e.g. the additional cubes.

Printing:

I used a Bambu Lab P1S (Basic black PLA with 0.4 mm nozzle) and the standard 0.12 mm High Quality preset from Bambu for all components. For the scenario sleeve you might want to use the 0.08 mm High Quality preset to make it even finer. But I am sure you can also go with larger layer heights. Just ensure that the Large Card Holder and the scenario sleeve are oriented correctly in the slicer (Large Card Holder should lie on the back side and the scenario sleeve should stand on the bottom and should have some space around for a brim for bed adhesion).

Feedback:

There are so many great ideas and designers out there and it took me some time to get this one right for me, but I am sure there are still things that can be optimized. So please let me know what you think and I can easily modify the files and objects .

Boost Me If you like my work then I would be happy for a little Boost :)
