Following the extraordinary idea by @Ergrak to create a board game in packaging that simulates a book (https://makerworld.com/en/models/519078#profileId-437384), and inspired by the beautiful designs by @Ritz (https://makerworld.com/en/collections/2157183) with their collection of book-format board games, some of which I have printed for my kids, I decided to create my own version of the Ricochet Robots game in book format.
The game I present has undergone some variations compared to the original; this version allows you to configure the board's barriers as you wish, enabling a very high number of possible combinations and challenges. The original silver piece has been replaced with a gold one. There's no hourglass, but it can easily be substituted by any timer app on a smartphone—I’m currently using an hourglass that came from a game my kids no longer use.
The robot I designed is quite crude; you might prefer to use the excellent design by @zelaia (Aitor Gartzia - https://www.thingiverse.com/zelaia/designs), available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6568615, or the one by @TheAvidArtist (Kaitlyn Glenn - https://www.thingiverse.com/theavidartist/designs), which you can download here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6737913/files.
The box has been designed to maintain a low profile and save material, although this requires using almost the entire printing space. A minimal amount of assembly is required by gluing the 'spine' of the book to the back of the box.
Due to Bambu Studio's inability to configure a single project with plates that have a prime tower and those without, it is necessary to manage two separate project files: one for the board, barriers, box, and tokens, and a second file for the game pieces that require multiple colors.
Finally, the game rules can be downloaded at: https://images-cdn.zmangames.com/us-east-1/filer_public/c0/b4/c0b482f1-ad3e-4e5d-ae48-0c11aa7c317a/en-ricochet_robot-rules.pdf, and I have also added a couple of photographs of the traditional board setup to the description.
I hope you enjoy the game, which is one of my favorites, and unfortunately, it’s not possible to find its original version in my country.
