Printable Tak game board and pieces

Straight out of Patrick Rothfuss' The Kingkiller Chronicle , Tak is a game of strategy and skill. Players take turns placing and moving tiles in an attempt to build a road from one side of the board to the other before their opponent.

Several board sizes are available with different "hybrid" states. All boards are hybrid boards, meaning they can be played in two different configurations. Pieces are placed inside the printed slots when played normally or fitted onto the raised intersection points when played as a hybrid board. When played as a hybrid board, the regular boards have one smaller dimension than the square (eg. a 5x5 board is 4x4) and the outside hybrid boards have one larger dimension than the square (e.g. a 5x5 board is 6x6). Due to this quirk, boards sized 8x8 regular or 6x6 outside hybrid are not available (as these would enable play on a 7x7 board, which is considerable bad luck). A 2x2 board is available for test print purposes.

The number of pieces required to be printed will depend on the size of the board to be played:

• 3x3: 10 pieces per player
• 4x4: 15 pieces per player
• 5x5: 21 pieces per player and 1 capstone per player
• 6x6: 30 pieces per player and 1 capstone per player
• 8x8: 50 pieces per player and 2 capstones per player

The boards are designed such that color changes can be achieved using filament swapping by layer, so a multi-color printer is not needed.
