The Great Wall - Awaken Realms - Boardgame insert

This is a boardgame storage solution for the miniatures version of The Great Wall, by Awaken Realms. I had wanted to compress the contents down into fewer boxes, but keep the vaccuum formed inserts to protect the miniatures. As such, the 3D printed inserts boil down to a series of card and token trays that go into either the Stretch Goals box or the Black Powder box. The only box that was eliminated was the Ancient Beasts box.

Stretch Goal Box Internal dimensions: 299 x 299 x 68

Each card tray is designed to hold all the cards for a given expansion module. It supports sleeved cards, and I believe there is space for premium thickness sleeves (although cannot confirm this).

With regards to the vaccuum formed trays: I did have to perform some surgery on the Black Powder and Stretch Goals trays to optimise space. This involves carefully trimming the side edges of the bases down so they are the same depth as the deepest miniature in the insert (draw a line around the tray sides with a sharpie to help). I also cut out the base of the card inserts in the tray to the same level so the tray sits flat.

Still to do: create a 3D printed tray for storing the ancient beasts miniatures in the base game box along with the 3D printed towers.

UPDATE: I modified the 3D printed towers created by Job de Bruin to make them more eastern in feel. I recommend glueing the bottom and middle layers together, and storing them in the large base game box.

UPDATE 07/12/2022: In the end, I didn't bother creating an insert for the ancient beasts miniatures, I just cut the existing insert down to size (see the photographs). The 3D printed towers fit in the remaining space - note the stacking order. The wooden struts on the tower tops need to fit inside the two surrounding tower bases in order to fit in the box (see the photographs).
