Designer's Description

The Tale of the Onyx Rummikub

In my thirty-first year, I was introduced to a most noble game called Rummikub. I fell swiftly in love with its charm and challenge. But alas! My heart was troubled, for I longed to possess the elusive Onyx Edition—black as night and rare as dragon’s gold.

I searched far and wide, but the treasure remained hidden. As seasons passed, hope faded. Then, in a moment of inspiration, I acquired a magical device—a printer of the third dimension—and began learning the ancient craft of design.

"If I cannot find it," I declared, "I shall forge it myself."

And so I did. I toiled by firelight, shaping each tile with precision—perfect in weight, size, and script. At last, I had crafted a set that matched the vision in my mind.

But my quest was not yet complete. I needed player trays and a carrying chest. Thus, I designed a sleek, stackable set of trays, and a fine case with replaceable latches and hinges that fit M3x10mm fasteners.

What began as frustration became a triumph of craft. The Onyx Rummikub was no longer a dream—it was mine, made by mine own hand.

TL;DR: At 31, I fell in love with Rummikub but couldn’t find the black Onyx version. So I learned 3D design, built my own set with accurate dimensions and text, then created stackable trays and a sleek case with replaceable latches and M3x10mm hinges.
