Emberleaf Boardgame Insert - No Lid Lift, Fits Sleeves, Shake Proof
I made an insert for the Kickstarter or Retail Edition of Emberleaf, along with all the extra content (Except Mats, and maybe [?] bag o colors). It is shake-proof and holds sleeves.
I really wanted setup to be a breeze, so the animals are in 4 trays so you don't have to set out 16 individual animals per player, you can move the building hexes straight to the board, and you can keep your dangerous areas, goals, and bonuses in their bags.
WHAT FITS IN THE BOX:
I believe everything but the mats. But if you ordered the Deluxe edition with the extra space in the box for the mats, maybe this would work? If you try this let me know. Let’s go over details.
Sleeved Cards? – YES.
Upgraded Banners – YES! JUST BARELY!
Bag o’ Upgrades – YES.
Trophies (Green Bag) – YES.
Bonuses (Blue Bag) – YES.
All Hero Packs and Starter Decks (Hero Pack 1, 2, 3, Starter Deck F, G, Seasonal fun) – YES.
Bag o’ Colors – MAYBE. I don’t have the Bag of colors, but I’ve added two STL Files that might accommodate the Bag o’ Colors (OPTIONAL_ExtraTriangle1, and 2). Would LOVE someone to test this for me.
Neoprene Player Mat – NO. But I suspect this insert will work in the “Deluxe Edition” box, which is 25% more deep to accommodate the Player Mats. Would LOVE someone to test this for me.
A NOTE ABOUT THE PLAYER TRAYS:
(PLEASE READ IF YOUR ANIMAL TRAYS ARE NOT SITTING FLUSH IN THE BOX)
There are two animal trays: A narrower one (for mice and owls), and a wider one (for frogs and bunnies).
There are runners on the bottom of the player box so you know which animals to put to the left (Mice/Owls) and right (Bunnies, Frogs). There’s also a small bevel on the bottom of the animal trays (see images) to help them stay in place. If you print with a brim, you will have to make sure this bevel is clean. To do this, take an exacto knife or deburring blade to these edges. Once the bevel is clean, the animal trays will fit into the player tray.
For the rest of the player components (Disks and Leaves), put the large leaf in first, point up. The rest of the components will fit in easily.
PLAYER LIDS:
There is an optional Nonspecific lid with no animal if you want to print all the boxes to be the same. Otherwise there is a different Lid for each animal.
CARD TRAYS:
There should be enough space for all cards sleeved. I used Gamegenic Matte sleeves which are 100 microns. It will be a tight fit but unless you’re using something super thick like Dragon shield sleeves you should be fine. In the Favors Card Tray, there is a spot for the additional advanced favors 235-258. If you’d like to integrate them into the other favors, there’s enough space in the main Favors slot.
The question mark is for helper cards.
BAG BOX:
I really put as much room into this box as I could. @aquariankate tested the wooden bag of banners, but found it easier to keep them in the original red bag. If you cannot fit your bag of banners, take some out and put them in the bottom of the bag box, or in the Optional Triangle Trays.
If you still have difficulty I apologize but I really put as much space into this box as I possibly could.
OPTIONAL TRIANGLE TRAYS:
I designed two triangle trays to fit on either end of the card trays to use the last possible space to hold… whatever you need to throw in here. Bag o’ colors. Loose wooden banners. Extra cardboard tokens, whatever you need.
WHY GREEN?:
I ran out of White.
PRINT DETAILS:
0.2 Layer Height. 0.4 Nozzle.
Most things are print once. Exceptions have "_x##" at the end of their file name. Exceptions include:
Hex_Stack_x5 - These hold the building hexes for the main board.
PlayerBottom_x5
PlayerHex_x5
PlayerMouseOwl_x10 - You will need two of these per player. If printing in colors, print 2 in each color.
PlayerFabbitFrog_x10 - You will need two of these per player. If printing in colors, print 2 in each color.
Lid_OPTIONAL_Non-Specific_x5 - If you are printing this instead of the Animal Specific Lids.
THANK YOU:
Thank you to Frank West for stuffing this game so full of stuff that designing an insert was a real challenge.
And a thank you to @aquariankate for helping me test this for the bag o’ banners. I had to increase the size of the bag box multiple times for you <3
Let me know if you’re having difficulties and I’ll try to help you out!
