Upgrade Wound and Last Gasp Counters for Mantis Falls (Heart and Tombstone tokens)

Inserts Free
Designer's Description

The buttons included in Mantis Falls to count wounds and Last Gasps are awful. Just awful. So tiny I lost half of them on day one… Impossible to pick up.

Here are upgrades that preserve the spirit of the game. The red hearts are used to count the wounds. The tombstones are a replacement for the Last Gasps counters.

Check out my organizer/insert for this game , which of course can hold these upgrades!

Printing

Two versions of the tombstone included.

I prefer the two-piece version, stand and stone printed separately. This way, with one manual color swap you can print the “RIP” in a different color. I included a 3mf file with the appropriate color change. (It also contains a couple of small cubes to make sure the printer doesn't leave a dot of filament on the model, as PrusaSlicer returns to where the previous layer ended, not where the current layer begins so the printers tend to leave some filament behind)

If you prefer the all-in-one version and optional painting, it should print without supports.

I printed hearts and tombstones with 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle, 15% gyroid infill, 2 perimeters. I also printed just the stone with a 0.25mm nozzle to see if that makes for a better inscription on the stone, but the differences were marginal and not worth the extra time.

Assembly

If you printed the stand and stone separately, just click them together. It's press-fit, but I suggest putting a drop of superglue on to make sure they don't come apart.
