Ever got frustrated when someone nudged the scrabble board and pushed the letters from their places? I did. While looking for a solution I found a nice scrabble grid, however, the grid would still move on the board. So i decided to make my own board.
The board is made of 4 puzzle like pieces, with places to fit the standard scrabble letters (19 x 19 x 4 mm). Assembly requires glue. (to fit the colored tiles into the grid).
The print profile is for an H2D, (because i put 2 quarters of board on one plate)
Assembly:
- print a total of 4 quarter pieces (depending on your printer and chosen print profile 2 or 4 * the first plate). Before sticking the coloured plates they are identical.
- print 1 of each of the bonus pieces plates
- the last colour mapping plate from the H2D profile is not really needed for anything (it is just a colour info plate, should you want it)
- put the board pieces next to one another and glue the bonus points according to the standard layout of a scrabble board
You need maximum 2 colours for every plate (except the colour mapping plate, that is optional anyway).
You could also print without AMS. The board could be 1 colour instead of having the upper part different and the coloured tiles will not have writing on them. You can just use a sharpy to write on them.
Looking for the rest of scrabble? These are the models I used:
