apparently the height of the acrylic tokens from the first and the second print run of the game are different, i.e. the tokens from the second campaign on which the measurements of the insert is based are a bit lower therefore please measure the total height of your shields, bonus and vineyard tiles and the height of 13 of your worker tokens and select the version you need: • the original version (this profile here) has a space of 46.5 mm space for bonus tiles, 70 mm for shields, 93.5 mm for vineyard tiles and 51.5 mm for half of the workers • the widened up version (not this profile) has a space of 51 mm space for bonus tiles, 78 mm for shields, 100.5 mm for vineyard tiles and 55 mm for half of the workers the layer height is 0.2 mm, 3 walls, 7% infill

Designer's Description

This is meant to replace the third layer of the original L-shaped insert of the miniature version. The original one doesn't house the acrylic tiles, also with the bags filled it's very cramped. The vineyard tiles fit (bagged up) in the original bottom tray.

The insert consists of five parts: a box used only for setup, a box for the hex tiles needed during the game, two trays with coins and workers to hand to the players and a spacer to hold everything in place. The “paid workers” tray needs to be printed twice of course.

With this approach, the gameboard is both held in place and functions as a lid, to even allow for vertical storage. The bags with the hex tiles (except for the vineyard) can then be conveniently placed around the insert.

The inspiration for this insert comes from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6289370 , however I designed it from scratch to fit my needs (I especially wanted to change the worker and coins and ended up changing everything).

UPDATE 23.05.2025:

Apparently the height of some acrylic tokens from the first and second print run of the game are quite different, i.e. some tokens from the second campaign (on which this insert is based on) are a bit lower. Therefore, before printing, please measure the total height of your tokens and compare them to the corresponding compartments of the insert.

To account for the difference I added a widened up setup box and a widened up paid workers box:

  • The “original” setup box (optimized for the second print run) has a space of 46.5mm for bonus tiles, 70 mm for shields and 93.5 mm for the vineyard bonus tiles. The space for half of the workers is at 51.5 mm.
  • The widened up version for the first campaign has a space of 51 mm for bonus tiles, 78 mm for shields and 100.5 mm for the vineyard bonus tiles. Also the space for the workers was increased to 55 mm.

Please select the correct version for yourself. If you are unsure or don't want to go for the “perfect” fit, the widened up version certainly works for both and nothing can fall out, it's just a bit more loose, if you have the smaller tiles - your decision. Also if you find some different sizes or not fitting compartments, just let me know. A big thank you for helping me with the measurements to @Serkan76 and @JayRac!

Additional note: I ordered my hex tiles from the first campaign, but as they are most likely same height or a bit higher it shouldn't matter, if you have hex tiles from the second print run.

For summarization and completeness: My game and my hex tiles are from the original campaign, my acrylic tokens are from the reprint.
