Printed without support, .2mm layers with .4mm nozzle. Used PLA Galaxy Nebulae for a nice “space-y” feel. Player trays are printed in PLA Matte - Marine Blue, Lemon Yellow, Grass Green, and Red. The energy cube trays are PLA Matte Apple Green and the Nebula Trays are PLA Basic Magenta. For use on the A1 mini you will most likely need to slice a couple of these stls into 2 pieces. UPDATED August 2, 2025 w/ new board tray pieces.

Designer's Description

UPDATED Aug. 2, 2025 - Uploaded new board tray pieces that now include a more generous gap. If you were having trouble fitting your board into the first print, you can print those 2 new pieces and it should fix your issues. Apologies, and thanks to the folks that sent feedback.

Insert for the game ORBIT , designed by Reiner Knizia and published by Bitewing Games. It's a great game that comes with really nice custom components in the deluxe edition, but is completely missing any type of storage inside the box. This insert will help free your pieces from their plastic baggies and should help speed up the table setup process when you want to jump into a new game.

  • Player Trays (4 unique) - Give each player a tray which holds their destination planets, spaceship, navigation tokens, and hyperspace engine tile.
  • PLEASE NOTE - The 4 player trays are unique because each player has different destination planets (you start on the planet of your own color, so you don't start with it).
  • Board & Planet Tray (2 pieces) - 2 piece tray (to better fit on more print beds and save some filament) that holds the board and board planets snugly in place. Beneath the planet there are also spaces for the Exchange and Friendship tiles, if you are using those.
  • Card Tray - Easy access to the sleeved (see below) draw deck.
  • Discard Tray - Keep your discards organized. In the box this also holds the energy cube trays.
  • Energy Cube & Nebula Trays (Print 2 each) - Multiple trays for each so that you can have a supply of energy cubes and nebula tokens at each end of the table for easy access.
  • Player Boards - Fits the player boards, sized to work with the retail boards OR the dual layer boards.
  • Storage & Spacer - This'll serve as space to hold the draw bag. If you have upgraded components you can also fit the retail player boards and cardboard tokens here in the box as well.

All parts designed around the use of Sleeve Kings standard sleeves. There seems to be space for thicker sleeves, but YMMV.
Boost Me I designed these trays to improve my gaming experience. Hope that they can help you as well. If so, please consider giving a boost. I'm always happy to hear any feedback you may have.
