Vine Board Game Insert with Compost & Growth Trays
Print Profile 7h 15m 393 g PLA
Plate Details (3)
Insert for Vine (CavernWire Games) that holds everything, including both bags, with lift-out Compost and Growth trays you use at the table.
Vine comes with two cloth bags, water droplets, a snail, root tiles and a deck of cards, and nothing to keep them apart in the box. I made an insert so everything has its spot and setup takes a minute.
The two trays come out and go on the table during the game:
Compost tray (big, brown): the two drawstring bags store in it, and at the table it’s the compost pile where the snipped cards go
Growth tray (blue): holds the water droplets, with a drop under the “Growth” text
The rest stays in the insert:
Card well that fits the deck, sleeved
Slot for the root/soil tiles, standing on edge
Small pocket for the snail
Finger notches to lift the trays and grab the cards
With everything inside, including both bags, the lid still closes flush.
The tray labels are multicolor: the text is inlaid in the top of the tray floor in a second colour, so it comes out flat and clean. If you print in one colour, you can turn the text into a few layers of relief or just skip it.
Printing
No supports, 0.20 mm layers, 2 walls, 15% infill
One plate per part, so only the trays need colour changes:
Plate 1: insert, green, about 264 g / 4.3 h
Plate 2: Compost tray, brown with green text, about 94 g / 2.1 h
Plate 3: Growth tray, blue with white text, about 33 g / 0.9 h
The text sits in the tray floor, so the colour changes only happen on 5 layers per tray
