This is an insert and token upgrades for the Playte version of Hellas, an excellent boardgame by Stefan Dorra.
The components are mostly great – but I wanted to fix the following:
- The tiny column pieces are fiddly to handle and place on the board, so I made “column holder” hexes that match the design of what's printed on the board
- The thin paper tokens for players' town squares and ring tokens didn't feel great, so I replaced them with simple hex-square pieces and tiny toy rings.
- Added a “first player” column token, which can be placed on the action board and taken by the first player who does the temple action.
The insert is not my design, it was created by Joe S and published at Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1817989-hellas-playte-insert
The rings are adapted from this print: https://makerworld.com/en/models/720861-custom-diamond-ring-openscad
The first player “column” token is adapted from this: https://makerworld.com/en/models/3344822-tiny-roman-column-mini-world-series
I printed my column holder hexes in white and painted them with some dark contrast wash, but I think they'd also look fine if you just printed them in gray.
The town square hexes are a simple composition I made within Bambu studio.
It all fits snugly back in the box, as long as you put the 2-player boards and original paper ring tokens at the bottom, and remove any other language rulebooks.
