Insert for Kanal (2024)

This is an insert for the 2024 release of Kanal (Oranienburg canal) by Uwe Rosenberg, published by:

• Spielworxx
• Sylex
• Fentasy Games
• Tesla Games

This insert will NOT work for earlier releases of the game as a number of things are different in this version:

• Only one size of path tile (approx 7cm) which is longer than previous releases
• Cards are the slightly unusual 60x60mm size

The box is large and even with generously sized token trays the insert needs two large (identical) spacers to keep everything in place.

Supports sleeved cards. Added lids lids for the card holders to make it less likely for the cards to slide out if stored vertically.

The print profile has everything printed in a single colour, but as you can see in the images I've printed the token and path trays in two colours for each player even though technically the majority of the tokens (bridges, activation markers, money) are a shared resource.

IMPORTANT :

This contains a modified lid and container design to make the lids ‘stickier’, essentially there are some very small bumps on two sides of the lids and corresponding recesses on the inside top of the card holders for those to click into.

If you have already printed the insert and want stickier lids then you can just print only the new lids, but think there is a more satisfying feeling when you use them with the matching containers. Suggest printing one container if you are curious.

This also contains the slightly narrower spacer design that was requested. I've therefore hidden the profiles which had just the missing lids and narrow spacer as the visible print profile now has everything in one place.
