Insert / Organizer for Space Empires 4X by GMT
UPDATE - added v2 of the Spacer PDF; v1 only had info for the short spacers.
Similar to other folks, I designed an insert. I considered doing the frankenbox of combining base+AGT by inverting the bottoms, but that leaves a lot of 'open' stacking.
I settled on using the AGT box for all of the empires and square tokens, and then the base game box for terrain hexes, dice, and cards.
Because of the specific build I did, I don't know if my parameters will meet most needs. This project is also available on Tinkercad if you want to edit the design if your parameters differ from mine.
My design inputs:
1. Two box as stated - Base + AGT
2. No game board - I use a frame and hex model for SE4X and other games like M44/Commands&Colors
3. Only the updated rule and scenario books
4. No economic sheets - I just print these as required
5. Sleeved cards, side storage
6. Put unexplored tokens on the map and draw actual terrain counter from a bag upon exploration
7. Counter holders should be full depth, with separate spacers inserted to allow for maximum flexibility and easy MAC (moves, adds, changes) later
8. Add a bit of color via some inlays (I do not have a native multi-color printer)
9. No tray lids - I just don't like 'em
There are 2 PDFs - one details the spacer count you'll need if you use the same counter layout that I did; the other is to print and put in the box. The latter also helps keep some of the counter wells covered when stacked to help keep everything in place for side storage.
