Dead Reckoning Captain's Chest + Extras

This is a replacement for the insert that came with Dead Reckoning's Captain's Chest, although even if you don't have the Captain's Chest, a couple of the extras might still be worth a look for you. This insert is completely modular, in that, if you don't want to use the dock tile holders, you don't have to. The trays that came with the game will fit perfectly into the same space. So, note anything labeled as optional, as you don't have to print those if you don't plan to use them.

*** The ship cube tower is still a work in progress. It functions and looks great, but doesn't print well if you plan on doing multi colors. I'm hoping to have something finalized in the next couple of weeks.

First, the dock tile holders were greatly inspired by Jett Ryker's design over at Adrena Creative. Mine are different in that they are meant to stack and honestly, don't look as cool as his. Second, for a while I had wanted to create a cube ship for the game, as I'm not fond of the cardboard. Well, someone beat me too it. I did end up making my own for a couple of different reasons, but again, Rycraft3DPrints's ship looks way cooler than mine. The best part? Now onto the details of the print...

Tray 1
There was a space in the corner from the original insert that seemed to have no purpose. I created 4 trays (2 money, 2 crates) that can fit there. I like the ideas of multiple trays that can be shared around the table vs. just 1. If you want to use the boxes and leave this space empty, print the "option1-genericstorage" instead. Similarly, if you want to use the chests that can with the game for player components, then don't print the player trays.

Tray 2
I left the original storage boxes for the money, cubes, etc.. in to hold all of the non-bling cardboard components. So obviously you can pick and choose how you want to do it: card board in the trays or card board in the boxes. If you decide to use my dock tiles, simply print 6. They stack neatly on top of each other with cut outs on the bottom to hold snug.

Tray 3 aka The Saga Tray
This tray should be pretty straight forward. I did print small dividers to help keep stuff from moving around in the box.

Tray 4
I didn't like the idea of digging out the box and opening it to get to the ship, so there's a big open space for the spin now. The big next to it holds the deconstructed ships, if you, like me, have multiple. The lower tray holds the framework for the battle board. Worth noting that my cube ship and battle tray frame both fit into their respective spots in the insert. As a last-minute addition, I took the deck boxes I previously created for the encounter/advancement cards and made them a little larger to fit the space. I also added a divider, if you want keep all of the cards in the box and tuck the ones you aren't using underneath.

Battle Board
Hopefully pretty straight forward, print 1 back, 2 sides and 2 front. There are also 4 connectors to hold them together. I do plan on reprinting these with transparent blue for the water and transparent green for the kraken. I'll update pictures when I do.

Ship Cube Tower
I would recommend NOT printing this yet, I'm mainly putting it as a placeholder so everyone knows a better version is coming. This version is definitely workable, as seen in my pictures, but I want something easier to print and with less waste for a multi-color print. I already have a great idea in mind, just need to test it out.
