Insert for Merchant of Venus 2nd Edition FFG
Insert for Merchants of Venus Second Edition by Fantasy Flight Games
No lid lift
Supports sleeves (I use sleeve kings brand standard thickness sleeves)
Supports vertical or horizontal storage (nothing should move around, even if you shake the box)
The setup trays make setting up either version of the game something you can accomplish in around 15 minutes (instead of almost an hour from baggies). I have included setup trays that you pre-pack with all of the needed tokens for the planet setup. I have included player trays that work for the classic game and the standard game (just add the overlays). The player trays support cutouts designed to hold cargo, dice, pilot cards, upgrades, cargo holds, shields, etc...)
Longest model : 227mm x 221.5mm (unless you print this part with the supplied split files, then 222.5mm x 217mm)
Total grams at default .2 bambu lab slicer settings (except 8% gyroid infill) : 1328 (It's a big boy)
Print settings : normal for your filament, no supports needed and I recommend 8% infill minimum
Note on multi color printing for text:
All of the multi color printing for this insert was accomplished with adding pauses in the slicer and doing filament swaps.
If you would like details on how to accomplish this with your printer and slicer, do a google search like 'how to I add pauses in Bambu Studio for filament swaps'. Basically, you slice the model, go to the layer you want a filament swap at (one for the text color then possibly one to change back to the predominant color) then you will issue the command to add a pause (right click on the slider for most slicers).
My priorities when designing inserts:
Reduce game setup and tear-down time
Support sleeved cards
No (or very little where impossible) lid lift
Create models that do not need any support
Create models that optimize filament use (when possible)
Make trays that can be used during gameplay
