Leuchtturm voraus! Insert (Beacon Patrol)
Here is my insert for the German board game ‘Leuchtturm voraus!’, which is called Beacon Patrol in English. The game comes with a cardboard insert, but this one didn't convince me.
It would be possible to store all the material in a smaller space, but the game box measures 190x190mm inside. In order to distribute the weight evenly, avoid wasting filament, and since I only have a small printer, I decided against a full-size inlay (and rejected the requirement for vertical storage).
The result is an inlay consisting of three parts that fit together well in the box:
* **LeuchtturmVorraus_base** (145x55x20mm)
Holds the 54 base tiles and the headquarter tile.
* **LeuchtturmVorraus_expansion** (145x55x20mm)
Holds the 29 expansion tiles (piers, windmills, seal banks, outposts, rocky bay, wreck) as well as the 5 blank tiles.
* **LeuchtturmVorraus_middle** (126x96x30mm)
Underneath the reference and ship cards there’s space for the 10 movement tokens and two separate trays for the ships.
The 3mf-file includes all three parts on two 18x18cm print plates. The insert needs about 139g of filament (with 10% infill).
I look forward to constructive feedback.
