Designer's Description

These trays were designed for the Pacific and Europe 1940 second edition of Axis and Allies. They fit snug inside the boxes that came with the game. They were designed to be a tray to use as you are playing the game. They also store away inside the original boxes keeping all the units separated while in storage.

Trays were designed to be printed by a 0.4mm nozzle in PLA. The walls are two layers thick (0.8mm).

Other versions of the game use different size boxes. The trays only fit in the 84mm x 290mm (3.25” x 11.4”) provided in the above version.

Each world power will need a tray 1 and a tray 2. There are several versions to choose from as different powers have different number of units and tokens. Any tray 1 can be combined with any tray 2 to fit in the box. The difference is primarily the depth of each slot. Shallow slots make it easier to grab a unit. Deeper slots accommodate more units. The standard tray has the smallest capacity (most shallow (slots) so should be used unless there isn’t enough room to fit all that power’s units.

Recommendation: I don’t know what world powers fit in what size trays (I’ve pooled units from many different versions). I highly recommend you print one standard version Tray 1 and 2 first, and use it to gauge for each power what size you will need. Each power has a different number of units in unique sizes and shapes so don’t assume it will fit. Below is a guide on the differences between the various versions.

Tray 1 & 2 Standard: Shallow slots for easy grabbing. Use for minor powers (France, ANZAC) or for major powers if you don’t combine Europe and Pacific theaters.

Tray 1 Extended: Same as Tray 1 standard, but with extra space for markers (1B).

Tray 1 Max: All slots are maximum depth except for 1E (35% depth), 1F (60% depth), 1G (75% depth).

Tray 2 Max: This version has a re-arranged configuration of slots to make more room for tanks. The US (green) units in the picture are in a Tray 2 Max. All slots are max depth except 2A which is 60% depth.
