Loved this design over the original, and decided to take it a step further with profile optimisation. Aim was to improve overall quality, minimise colour changes and minimise filament. Can confirm magnets (3x6mm) can be pushed in, no need for glue. • Top Piece: New text font - more true to the Catan font (Minion Pro), optimised so there's no gaps in the text. Reduced text layers from 5 to 2 to minimise colour changes. • Bottom Piece: Concentric bottom layer for the Base (shown in red base photo). Added ironing to topmost surface only (preference only) • All: Smoothed bottom layer - 0.32mm makes text and lines cleaner. Reduced infill. One wall on first layer. Smoothed top layers. Top piece on Diamond Textured Plate, bottom piece on a Supertack Smooth Plate. Black is Elegoo Rapid PLA+, other colours are Bambu. To get a solid bottom layer (with legible text) calibrating flow rate is important. To save filament I recommend printing top and bottom pieces on different plates. I printed 2x top pieces simultaneously (can do 3x), and 2x bottom pieces with print by object.

Catan Player Piece Boxes for the 3D Version of the Board game

WITH MAGNETS

The uploaded file is in English, text can be modified in Bambu Studio (although fotos are in German).

This is a redesign of https://makerworld.com/de/models/724977-catan-player-pieces-box-base-set-and-seafarers#profileId-657095 to fit some magnets in to hold bottom and top together. Intended for the printed pieces, the ones I used are these: https://makerworld.com/de/models/573919-the-settlers-of-catan-3d-board-improved#profileId-2225407 , but I believe most you can find have the same size and fit as well.

I remodelled everything from scratch using the original measurements, gave the cavities a tighter fit to squeeze in 3 magnets on each part (6 in total per box).

Some of the coloring was reduced in order to lessen filament changes (modify to your liking in BambuStudio or keep it simple as it is).

The 3 x 6 mm magnets used for the board game (3 mm diameter, 6 mm length) fit right in. It is supposed to be a tight fit, so no glue needed.

Connection is strong enough to hold the pieces together even when carried on the lid or bottom only.

Boxes in the photos were printed with Sunlu PLA+.
